Protaras Flights

There are two international airports in the Republic of Cyprus, one on the east side of the island: Larnaca airport and another on the west side of the island: Paphos airport.

A re-development programme to increase the capacity at both airports and equip them with modern facilities began in 2006.  The completion of this re-development programme will see the annual capacity of Larnaca airport increase to 7.5 million passengers by November 2009 and has already been completed at Paphos airport increasing its annual capacity to 2.7 million passengers in November 2008.

The closest international airport to Protaras is Larnaca airport, situated approximately 35 miles (56 km) west of the resort.  Holidaymakers are therefore advised to use this airport when planning their arrival to the island, the transfer time is usually 45 minutes.  Although further away from Protaras, Paphos airport is only 115 miles (185 km) west of the resort, which is a reasonable distance to travel if for any reason holidaymakers prefer to arrive at this airport, the transfer time is approximately 2 and a half hours.

The duration of flights from the UK to Larnaca airport is approximately 4-5 hours direct.  Direct flights to the republic of Cyprus currently depart from the following UK airports:
